'Alaska, the last frontier '
Bear Camp July 20-23 2027
Anchorage/Kenai Extension July 16-25 2027

Ahh Alaska! Just the name alone evokes adventure. Also named the 'Last Frontier', this wild land of North America offers snow-capped peaks, spectacular fjords, and extraordinary wildlife. During this workshop, you will have the chance to experience a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, getting up close to the iconic animals of these remote regions while capturing striking images in truly breathtaking settings.

Katmai Bear Camp with Scott Stones

In partnership with Scott Stones, I invite you to dive into the heart of wild Alaska during a four-day Bear Camp. This unique immersive experience will have us camping directly in the territory of the great coastal grizzly bears of Katmai National Park. For four days, we will share our days with these incredible brown bears, from dawn until sunset, enjoying exceptional photographic opportunities. Expect unforgettable moments, up close with wildlife, in truly spectacular landscapes.

Important: Registration for the Bear Camp is done directly through Scott Stones’ website. Please visit his site for more details or to reserve your spot.

6-DAY EXTENSION
From Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula

I recommend combining the Anchorage/Kenai extension with the Bear Camp to enjoy a complete Alaska experience. By arriving a few days earlier and departing a few days later, you’ll have time to acclimate, explore the wild beauty of the coastal landscapes, and photograph local wildlife without the pressure of having to head straight to Katmai.

Anchorage

We will dedicate the first two days to exploring the wildlife around Anchorage. At this time of year, nesting has ended for most birds, but many remain just as striking. The Pacific Loon and the Red-throated Loon will be our main targets, and with a bit of luck, we may add several other species to our list.

Kenai Peninsula

The Kenai Peninsula is considered the world capital of the Bald Eagle. They are abundant there and especially easy to approach. With coastal landscapes, Kachemak Bay in the background, and mountains lost in the clouds as a backdrop, the setting is simply perfect. The Bald Eagle will be our main subject during the four days spent in Homer, but we may also encounter seabirds, cranes, and sea otters.
