PHOTO WORKSHOP
'Autumn in the Canadian Rockies'
September 19th to October 1st 2026
(Full)

The Canadian Rockies remain undeniably the most iconic destination in our country, and it only takes setting foot there to understand why. Turquoise lakes, towering peaks, majestic waterfalls, and abundant wildlife fill these vast wilderness spaces. As autumn arrives, the crowds thin, the trees put on their most vibrant colors, and the animals become more active than ever. Join me in exploring these legendary landscapes and capturing their magic through the lens.

The wildlife

The Rockies are teeming with wildlife and offer an incredible diversity of animals. Among the most frequently seen are elk, moose, deer, coyotes, black bears, grizzlies, and bighorn sheep, as well as fascinating smaller creatures like ground squirrels and pikas, equally photogenic. We will have the chance to capture these mammals, from the largest to the tiniest, set against breathtaking landscapes.

The birds

Between prairies and mountains, Alberta reveals an incredible variety of ecosystems that are home to fascinating birdlife. Among the most iconic, the majestic great grey owl can be photographed against breathtaking autumn backdrops, while the great horned owl is sure to impress. In the mountains, corvids will capture our attention: magpies, jays, nutcrackers, and ravens are true stars in front of the lens. Our trip also coincides with the shorebird migration, offering the chance to photograph elegant species up close, such as avocets and black-necked stilts. And other wonderful surprises surely await us!

The landscapes

It’s impossible to visit the Rockies without photographing their majestic landscapes! Every morning, we’ll capture the sunrise from some of the most spectacular viewpoints. Autumn in the Rockies means stunningly colorful trees, along with a constant dance of clouds across the mountains. Along the way, we’ll make plenty of stops to capture the full grandeur and striking beauty of these landscapes.
